E Mittens were inspired by the first snow of the year. All of a sudden I felt the need for thick warm mittens to play with the lovely snow.

The snow came twice and melted before finishing the design or completing the pattern. I had to keep focused on developing the pattern because I knew if I moved to another project I’ll forget the ideas I had for this pattern. The process of developing these mittens were like the snow sometimes hard and sometimes fun.

The E Mittens are worked from cuff up towards fingertips then the thumb is worked from gusset opening up towards thumb tip.

Before you start read all of the pattern and make sure you’ve mastered the following:

  • Front & Back Post Double Crochet
  • Front & Back Post Half Double Crochet
  • Front Post Single Crochet
  • How to count rounds & stitches

All questions, feedback and corrections are welcomed.

Enjoy!
