Spring can wear many different hats, depending on your location. Here in Ketchikan, spring usually has one of those “fake-out” periods where the breezes warm and the sun comes out. Some plants even take that as a sign to begin opening tender sprouts. This is almost always followed by winter’s last breath, though, and can often be followed by several inches of fresh show before the real spring comes out to play. This ethereal shawl will catch those warm breezes no matter how long they come out to play with an easy, one-sided, rhythmic Shetland lace to keep your hands busy until it’s safe to wear outside over your short sleeves.
