The Earth and Sky Wrap is a classic rectangular wrap, with a contemporary twist. It was designed to allow one to play with color, and uses various knit/purl stitch patterns, many of which were inspired by nature. It is an ideal project for using up single skeins of worsted weight yarn, and is a very relaxing and enjoyable knit!

The wrap was designed in a color block style, however you could knit this wrap all in one color, or arrange your colors in a subtle gradation. You will need either 4 or 5 skeins of worsted weight yarn, depending on the size of wrap you choose to knit. The 4 skein wrap works very nicely as an indoor garment, and rests comfortably across the shoulders, similar to a shawl, and the 5 skein wrap will will provide protection against the elements in colder weather. Each block contains 4 different stitch patterns, for a total of 16 - 20 different knit/purl stitch patterns, allowing the knitter to create a unique sampler, and one-of-a-kind heirloom garment.

The pattern is presented in clear, written line by line format, and includes tips for the beginner-intermediate knitter. The hat was knit with yarn left over from the 5 skein wrap, however, it may require the purchase of an additional skein of yarn, or the use of additional small amounts of similar yarn. The hat pattern is included with this wrap pattern.
