Easiest Baby Jacket Ever
This project will be worked in one flat piece.
We will work from the bottom of the back up to the neck, over the shoulders, working to the bottom of the front of the garment.
Once complete, then we will fold over to show the front and the back and then sew up the sides and the under arms, attaching the ties last.
After the neck section the pattern is split into two. The 1st half and the 2nd half.
It looks like row numbers are duplicated; however, you will see that row numbers are the same, but they are identified through which half you are working on. For example, there are 2 row 100s. One is for the first half and the second is for the second half of the front pieces.
This little jacket should be a little larger than a cardigan because the idea is that this will be worn over a jumper or thin cardigan, providing an extra layer of warmth without the bulk of a big jacket.
• Yarn – Any Aran weight – 1 skein.
• Needles – 6mm (Aran weight usually calls for 5 mm needles, however, to make this garment nice and loose for the baby, we are going to increase the needles size.
• Crochet hook suitable for yarn or a little smaller.
• Darning needle/ wool needle.
