This Easter Lamb Creme Egg Cover crochet pattern is available to view for FREE online on my blog, as part of my Easter CAL, here: https://hookedonpatterns.com/crochet-blog/free-easter-lam...

The PDF download is available as the Easter Egg Animals eBook from my Ravelry Store. The eBook features the full patterns for all 3 animals in the Easter CAL set, a Chick, a Bunny, and a Lamb, plus the instructions on how to convert the egg cosies into pencil toppers.

The eBook includes extra, high quality, photos not available online, plus a separate image-free printer friendly version.

These Easter themed egg shaped animals are designed to fit Cadbury’s Creme Eggs, or similar sized chocolate eggs. Alternatively, you can make them into fun pencil toppers.

I have used Paintbox yarns Simply Chunky (US Bulky weight) acrylic yarn with a 5mm hook. Using chunky weight yarn makes them quick to whip up, and the acrylic fibre allows some stretch for inserting and removing the chocolate eggs.

The finished Lamb egg covers measures approximately 6cm tall by 5cm wide, designed to fit snugly over a standard sized 40g Cadbury’s Creme Egg chocolate.

You will need:
Chunky weight (US Bulky) acrylic yarn (which recommends using a 6mm hook) in your chosen animal colours (less than 20yds per colour needed for each egg),
DK yarn or Embroidery Thread for the face details,
A 5mm hook (or hook size required to meet the gauge),
A yarn needle and scissors.
For Pencil Toppers:
A small amount of toy stuffing.
