Use any super-soft luxury sport yarn - cashmere, camel, alpaca, etc (I used a local alpaca farm’s handspun) for softness and drape.

As is usual with my quickies/freebies, I didn’t gauge. If you knit really loose, go down a needle size or two, and if you are a tight knitter, you should still be fine. It’s a loose cowl and the fabric is warm but thinner because of the sport weight.

Additional photos coming soon - it was a gift for my mother for the holidays (and she hates selfies!) and is RIDICULOUSLY simple, using larger needles for speed and drape - cast on, knit for a while, cast off - the only reason I am posting it here at all is that the use of larger needles, the pull of a longer tube of fabric combined with the “roll” of stockinette on the edges all stylize into a beautiful accessory.
