This easy crochet beanie pattern starts with the ribbed band worked back and forth in rows, before working the rest in the round. Simple shaping and stitches make this siimple crochet hat pattern beginner friendly. Thick yarn also means this crochet beanie is quick and easy to make, ideal for gifting and charity projects.

You’ll be delighted with how fast this easy crochet hat makes up. I used a contrast colour for the Band but you could use a single colour throughout if you prefer.

Materials:
• At least total 75g/190m/210yds heavy worsted (Aran) weight yarn:
- 45g/112m/123yds for Main Part - pictured here in Jewelspun Aran by Sirdar in Col. 0708 - each ball = 200g/500m/547yds)
- 30g/63m/70yds for Contrast Band - pictured here in Aran by Cygnet Yarns in Cream Shade 288 – each ball = 100g/210m/230yds)

  *Use a single colour throughout if you prefer

• H8 (5mm) crochet hook
• US7 (4.5mm) crochet hook 
• darning needle
