Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit with beads? Learn the basics of knitting with beads and knit this simple, yet elegant, Easy Beaded Scarf. This is a very easy pattern from which to learn a bead knitting technique.

Selvage edge stitches at the beginning and end of each row will also be used in this project. The scarf is approximately 4 1/2” wide x 48 “ long, using approximately 200 yards of any dk weight yarn. Prestring 6/0 TOHO seed beads before knitting.
For a longer scarf, select additional yardage and continue in the pattern.

This is a helpful You-Tube video for stringing beads onto the yarn using a dental floss threader: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtTCeehuSFw

I use a fleece mat on a flat table surface rather than hold the beads in my hand. You can get fleece fabric at any fabric store and cut a small square to use for beading.

The pattern has been updated to include an alternative size using size 6 needles, approximately 300 yards of dk or sport weight yarn and approximately 1,000 beads.
