I have seen many, many wonderful patterns, all of which
have been knit in the round, which I hate. Getting my thinking hat on I decided it couldn’t be that difficult to make some knit flat. There is a fancy cuff with 2 patterns, one to be seen & one
underneath, both are ribbed for ease of wear – there is nothing worse than trying to get your feet into socks that are too tight is there? Simple garter stitch covers the rest of it. Using Kitchener stitch to graft the soles, the only sewing is the seam up the back & if you use mattress stitch to join it is virtually unseen. One quick note, YOU MUST use the edge stitches otherwise the 2 colours are not nearly so neat. The white blobs on the bottom are a product called sock stop – basically nonslip for slippers. My nose tells me this is copydex সহ঺঻
You will need :
2 colours of Aran yarn. I used 100g Yarnbee with Alpaca in a pale skin coloured pink & 40g
Mary Maxim heathered grey again with Alpaca. I have oodles of yarn, so, used some leftovers,
any washable Aran will do in any colour, or colours you fancy
6.5mm straight needles
5.5mm round needles – you need round needles, but you are not knitting in the round
Tapestry needle
