This is an easy beanie to make using half double crochets. By working in the back loops only, it forms the textured look automatically. I like to use variegate yarn when working a simple stitch, it lets the yarn make the design look difficult. This basic pattern is made by stitching a rectangle and then forming the circle closure at the crown and sewing a seam down the back. A quick border around the brim and that’s it!
