Free easy knit 1x1 ribbed mitts pattern knit in the round which makes a good first magic loop knitting project with a long circular needle. Or you can use a set of short DPNs or a short circular instead.

Matching hat pattern available: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-knit-ribbed...

Use any standard DK yarn with 4mm needles, or lighter worsted.

Beginner friendly, the simple thumb hole is made by casting off stitches on one round and casting on more on the next.

2 stretchy sizes to fit most adults & teens due to them being knit fully in rib which makes them adjust to fit well:

  • Medium size for hands up to 7.5 inch circumference
  • Large size for hands 7.5 inch circumference or bigger

If between sizes, knit medium for a snug fit and large for a more relaxed fit, bearing in mind the mitts will stretch a bit with wear.

Suggested length is 7 inches, but is fully adjustable by knitting more or less rounds.
