This very simple pattern uses bulky yarn in 2 colourways, and a light-weight yarn for contrast (e.g. DK, Sport, or Fingering). If you opt for thick-and-thin yarn it adds an extra element of fun, but it can be worked with any combination of three different yarns, hence the name.

And it’s garter stitch knit flat—and since there’s no need to remember when the colours change, it’s perfect for public knitting or those times when you simply want to relax.

The finished throw can be any size you like, simple cast on more or fewer stitches, and knit until satisfied! To get a good-sized throw (rather than a baby blanket) you will likely need at least 500 yards of each colourway.
