The asymmetric shape of this shawl was inspired by a stretch of coastline where the tide ebbs slowly out creating a peculiar angle with the shore. As the water recedes over the sandbanks it leaves behind a pattern of long shallow pools.

Here the semi solid colours of Yarn Pony’s hand dyed yarns reflect the sand and sea capturing the spirit of this inspiration.

The shawl is knitted from the top down toward the point which is off centre. Knit entirely in garter stitch using two colours.
