The Eccleston Jacket is a design built directly into CustomFit, which means that each Eccleston Jacket pattern is written specifically to your choice of gauge and size.

A cropped jacket in a simple but effective all-over texture pattern, a clever knit-and-purl interpretation of a plaid. Deep garter edgings and a high collar lend a casual flair to this versatile piece. Wear it like a bomber jacket, with jeans and a tshirt for weekend flair; for office-wear or dinner dates, style it like a boxy ‘Chanel’- type jacket with a skirt, or over a dress.

As shown, it’s buttonless; the wide garter edgings are a super way to show off a favorite shawl pin, or other type of closure pin. You can add a button (or several) if you’d prefer.

The sample is worked in the Short Length, with full-length sleeves; the model is wearing it with a close fit, so that the back and sleeves are kept close to the body and the front doesn’t sag when worn open.

(One quick note on yardage in CustomFit patterns - the yardage requirements listed here are based on my preferred gauge for the recommended yarn. And while I’ve given approximate quantities for standard size sweaters, CustomFit will make your pattern in the size and gauge of your choice. It’s pretty tough to give yardage requirements for any possible combination! If you’re not using the recommended yarn, and/or you’re not a standard size, I recommend Hannah Fettig’s amazing app, stashbot, to get a sense of your yardage requirements.)
