These top-down socks have some stocking flair, featuring a lace cuff with built-in calf shaping. A related lace pattern continues down the leg, instep, and optionally all the way to the tip of the toe. The two patterns have delayed decreases in common: the yarn overs are set several stitches away from their corresponding decreases, which shapes the fabric into zigzags and ripples that cling comfortably to your foot.

The pattern is both charted and written.
