The new Girandola Louisa Harding yarn I used for this project comes in an array of beautiful colors and is characterized by changing textures. I love how the viscose adds bits of sheen sheen to the knitted fabric. The shawl is an asymmetrical triangle, worked from one tip to the wider cast-off edge. The shawl is a combination of garter stitch and the simple mesh/lace pattern. Perfect for beginners. The picot cast-off adds a pretty finished edge.

This shawl is inspired by lovely Edisto Island, South Carolina. With its palmetto trees, Spanish moss, lush foliage, and unspoiled beaches, Edisto is a place of refuge and beauty.

I took the photos of the shawl on Edisto Island, a day before I had to evacuate due to Hurricane Florence. The serene atmosphere before the storm is mirrored in the mild blues of the colorway I chose.
