Edith is a stylish knitted skirt inspired by 1960’s and featuring eye-catching scalloped colourwork. This simple skirt is wonderful for special occasions or just for playtime! Try styling it with a blouse, tights and Mary Jane shoes for a traditional look, or pair it with rubber boots and knee socks for a splashy time in the rain!

Worked in the round from top to bottom, with 1x1 ribbing worked on smaller sized needles forming the waistband. Afterwards, we will change to larger needles and knit in stockinette stitch (knit every stitch) for the rest of the skirt, following a chart to form the colourwork. We then continue with stockinette stitch until we make another few rounds of 1x1 ribbing for the bottom of the skirt.

Difficulty: Advanced Beginner.

Skills: Long tail or similar stretchy cast on, bind off, working in the round on circular needles knit and purl stitches, working from a chart, stranded colourwork/Fair Isle work, seaming.
