Edwardian Madeleine Shawl
The Edwardian Era Shawl/Wrap (also known as The Madeleine Shawl) is very easy and beginner friendly. I was inspired to crochet this beautiful item looking at engravings and shawls from the Edwardian Era. This pattern is part of my Vintage Crochet Series, and is very typical of the Edwardian Era, where delicate designs and jewel tones were in fashion.
This easy pattern is written in US terms (UK terms in brackets in the notes section of the pattern).
For this project you will need:
3 skeins of Sirdar N°1 DK in shade 234 Dusky Rose, or any other yarn of your preference in DK/Light 3 weight (you will need 650 yards for this project)
A 4 mm crochet hook
A tapestry needle
Pair of scissors
The size of the finished shawl is: 12,5” (32 cm) x 70” (177 cm).
I hope you enjoy it!
This easy project can be crocheted in the space of a week-end, and makes a perfect present.
