I was inspired to make an egg gathering apron. I am of the camp of not sewing things when you can crochet them on as you go and that I don’t need a full lap apron to collect my tiny amount of eggs. I have 11 lovely hens and a rooster so this compact apron allows me to collect all the eggs I need to in one day. My chickens lay Pewee to Medium eggs. This is an intermediate skill level pattern with Tunisian crochet for the ties for the apron. If you have need of more pockets, or you need larger pockets, the pattern is easily adaptable. See end of pattern notes for adapting suggestions.

Gauge is not critical. It does help to keep it as close to gauge as possible.

This pattern can be added or subtracted from to create a truly unique apron for your egg gathering needs.

I used 115g of yarn in two different colors of Aran weight cotton yarn. Your milage may vary due to strap length and any customizations.
