Thank you so much for visiting my latest Easter crochet pattern!

This pattern makes 5 small amigurumi animals that are egg-shaped. They’re all an ‘easy’ crochet level and are super quick to make.

They also require minimal sewing, always a plus!

Details are below, however if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at any stage.

What you need

  • DK yarn/Chenille (see yarn & colour key)
  • Crochet hook size 2.5 mm (US C/2)
  • Stuffing
  • Needle
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Stitch marker
  • Safety eyes 6 mm
  • Black embroidery thread
  • Pink embroidery thread (Puppy only)
  • A small amount of white DK yarn for eye embroidery (All Eggy Paw Pals except Kitty)
  • 3.5 cm pom pom maker (Bunny only)
  • White & Pink DK yarn for tail (Bunny only)

Yarn recommendation and yardage
Sirdar Happy Chenille (15g = 38 m / 41 yds per ball). Each Eggy Paw Pal is made with two yarn colours - a lighter shade & a darker shade of the same colour. Colours used and yardage is below.

  • Bear: Dark green (6g = 15 m / 17 yds) & Light green (6g = 15 m / 17 yds)
  • Bunny: Dark pink (10g = 25m / 27 yds) & Light pink (6g = 15 m / 17 yds)
  • Kitty: Dark aqua (6g = 15 m / 17 yds) & Light aqua (6g = 15 m / 17 yds)
  • Mouse: Dark grey (8g = 20 m / 22 yds) & Light grey (6g = 15 m / 17 yds)
  • Puppy: Dark brown (11g = 28 m / 31 yds) & Light brown (6g =15 m / 17 yds)

Amigurumi Size
With the yarn and crochet hook outlined above, each Eggy Paw Pal body will be approximately 6 cm / 2.4 “ high & 4.2 cm / 1.7 “ wide. This of course also depends on your tension. I do tend to crochet quite tightly, so your Eggy Paw Pal may turn out a little bigger.

Gauge
Gauge is not required for this pattern, however keep tension consistent throughout. For reference my gauge was:
6 sc stitches on 2.5 cm / 1 “
6 rows on 2.5 cm / 1 “

Other Pattern Notes

  • You can use any yarn you like, but ensure you use a smaller crochet hook than the yarn recommends so your stuffing doesn’t show through the stitches.
  • This is a 5-in-1 crochet pattern, as the feet and body for all amigurumi parts are the same.
  • Depending on which Eggy Paw Pal you crochet there is minimal sewing throughout.

I hope you enjoy this pattern and if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

If you do decide to make any of these Eggy Paw Pals, I’d absolutely love to see your makes. You can share them with me on social media @cillacrochets and using the hashtag #CrochetEggyPawPals.

Until next time, happy crocheting,
