This is a digital pattern for all those who love the fair isle look but have always shied away from knitting in the round! This is an easy construction sweater - knit all flat and then assembled by sewing. No increases, no knitting in the round for this warm winter outdoor knitwear. With the added complexity of cables for extra texture and loveliness of rustic fair isle pattern, this will hopefully become your go-to sweater for outdoor walks throughout the cold season!
Sizes S, M and L, pattern is both written and charted for the cables section, in English.
Suggested yarn: Alafosslopi, but any chunky yarn (100g (3.5 oz) | Yardage: 100m
(109 yds) / skein) will do as long as you meet gauge.

  • Color A :4 (4, 4) ; Color B 3 (4, 4), 1 skein each of Colors C, D, E, F
  • Spare white chunky yarn in the same weight (the white is not prevalent so if you don’t want to buy an additional skein in white, spare yarn is perfect)
  • 6 mm size needles
  • Cable needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Blunt needle for weaving loose ends and sewing pieces together

For 10cm / 4in:
Stockinette stitch: 14-15 st / 16 rows with 6mm needles. Tension varies with colors so it’s better to always check if you’re ok with the gauge and needle size first on swatches.

Happy Knitting!
