Elara is worked flat from the top down. Short rows create the sloping garter panels, which sit alongside the lace sections and bobble accents. The wrap finishes with a picot edging.

Yarn Notes

We knit our sample in Bear Paw DK by The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers in Clay Dreaming and it’s such a good match for Elara’s mix of texture and drape. The blend has a soft hand, a little glow from the silk, and the kind of stitch definition for crisp garter ridges and lace.

It also blocks beautifully, which is exactly what you want for a wrap like this.

Any DK weight yarn you love wearing at your neck and shoulders will work. If you’re stash diving, look for something with a smooth-ish finish and enough definition to let the lace read clearly.

• US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles

We like the fabric and drape achieved on US 7 needles and do not find a gauge swatch necessary for this pattern, hooray!
