Elburg, a cozy hat designed for the This is Knit Christmas Cracker, features a 2x2 ribbed brim and all-over slip stitch pattern. The delicate braids of the pattern bring to mind sweet thoughts of wreaths and tinsel in this beautiful, exclusive Christmas Cracker colorway, Wreath. The slip stitch combined with the cabling technique makes for an interesting knit every few rounds with some joyfully mindless knitting rounds in between. SIZES

3 sizes: Baby (Child, Adult) intended for head circumference of 15.5-17 (18-19.5, 22-23.5) / 39-43 (46-50, 56-60) cm.

YARN

Townhouse Yarns Christmas Cracker 2022’ (75% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Silver Stellina; 232 yd / 212 m per 3.5 oz / 100g skein) in colorway Wreath’.

DK-weight yarn. Required yardage (including a swatch): 100 (140, 200) yd / 90 (130, 180) m

NEEDLES

Needle A (for the Brim in 2x2 rib): 16 / 40 cm circulars in US 2.5 / 3 mm, or 2 sizes / 0.5 mm smaller than Needle B.

Needle B (for the Main Part and Crown): 16 / 40 cm circulars + DPNs or longer circulars for magic loop’ method to finish the crown in US 4 / 3.5 mm, or size to get gauge in Valley Stitch.

NOTIONS

1 stitch marker (you can use more to separate pattern repeats), cable needle, row counter (optional), scissors, tapestry needle.
