Electrine Top
Knitting Pattern for a Elegant and Airy Summer Top with a Romantic Lace Pattern on the Bottom, a Loose Fit and Small Straps with a Round Neck at Front and Back Part in Sizes (XXS) XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL
Structure:
The summer top is worked in a wide ribbed pattern from the top down. The bottom of the top is worked in a beautiful lace pattern, flowing out of the purl stitches creating the wide ribbed pattern at the upper part of the top. First, the front parts are worked, starting with the left front part and then with the right front part. The round neck and the armholes are worked with increases. As soon as both parts are long enough, both parts are joined along the neckline by casting on new stitches. Now the front part is finished by working increases along the armholes only. When the final number of stitches is reached, the back part is worked directly onto the front part. In comparison to the front part, the neckline is shaped differently, as you will work the right back part and the left back part separately. Now all parts are joined: The front part, the right back part and the left back part by casting on new stitches between all parts. The top is now worked for a few centimeters in wide ribbed pattern in the round, until you work the romantic lace pattern for a few repeats. Last, but not least, the summer top is bound off with an I-cord edging. The armholes and the neckline along front part and back part are finished off with an applied I-cord edging as well.
The fit of the top is slightly loose with a relaxed fit due to the neutral to positive ease of up to 15 cm. The straps are relatively small, but the applied I-cord edgings add stability to the straps. The romantic lace pattern at the bottom hem as well as the airy fit of the design are the highlights of this summer top, creating the perfect must-have for every hot summer day!
