Thank you for showing interest in my first pattern! I wanted to create a cowl that was light and easy to throw in a bag, to have handy for days when there is a chill in the air.

An adventurous beginner could certainly tackle this pattern. It is a great pattern for stranded knitting beginners as there are only a few rows that require you to catch floats. It is a great opportunity to find your rhythm with stranded colorwork!

Elemental is written for one size, but you can customize the circumference by adding or deleting repeats of the charted color-work pattern. Each 18-stitch pattern repeat adds just over 2in (5cm).

Yarn:
50g ~230yds/210m MC (Eucalyptus in sample)
25g ~115yds/105m CC (Raven in sample).
If using different yarn, keep in mind that yardage required may be slightly different.

Needles:
US2 (2.75mm) 24” circular for body
US1 (2.25mm) 24” circular for ribbing
Or sizes needed to obtain gauge.
