Elephant Stuffie
My second grade students LOVE knitting animals. In Waldorf and Waldorf-inspired schools, Handwork is a weekly part of the curriculum. Students learn to knit in first grade and continue to build knitting skills into 2nd grade. I made this pattern as an extra project for my fast knitters, but it’s also a great project for adults to knit as a gift for those special little ones in their lives!
Materials:
-1 skein of Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Bulky in Grey Heather (125 yds/4oz/113g), or other bulky weight yarn
-Size US10.5 knitting needles
-Blunt tapestry needle
-Stuffing
Gauge: Does not matter with this project. Make a family of different size elephants by using different weight yarns to make a smaller or bigger elephant.
Bulky weight yarn makes an elephant approx. 8” long x 6” tall.
