A tunic works so well under winter coats. As an alternative to buttons or a belt we’ve added ties.

Make four ties
Using double-pointed 3mm (US 2/3) needles cast on 4 stitches.
Row 1 Right side: Knit 4, without turning slip these 4 stitches to opposite end of needle & bring yarn to opposite end of work pulling it quite tightly across the wrong side of work, knit these 4 stitches again, repeat from until tie is 34 cm long.
Place a marker slightly above waist level, on each side edge of the back & front and stitch each tie neatly & firmly in place on the wrong side.

In the book we unfortunately got the yarn quantities wrong, the correct amounts are: 8: 9: 10: x 25gm balls of Rowan Alpaca Classic.
