This is a very simple cowl. You can use any bulky yarn for it, because it is a ribbed check it is pretty forgiving.

I have made it with different yarns, so the gauge isn’t essential because I got the same result each time.

The yarn that I used was 200grams in weight. If you want it longer you will need extra yarn. You could use 3 strands of 8 ply/DK to do the cowl to get a different look.
