DESCRIPTION

ELSOM is an elegant and deeply versatile shawl with unique construction that can be adapted to work in any yarn at any gauge to make whatever size you would like. This trapezoid-shaped piece begins with 6 stitches in the top corner and grows outward toward the long edge until you turn to create the first corner when you are about halfway through your yarn. The sample in the pattern photos was made with a single strand of a light-fingering-weight yarn to achieve the dreamiest featherweight fabric for a perfect layering piece.

SIZING

Finished measurements:
18”/45cm wide and 136”/340cm long along bottom edge

Custom sizing:
Elsom can be worked at almost any gauge/size according to your preference/yarn stash. The pattern includes yarn requirements and stitch counts to replicate the sample in the photos, but if you choose to use a different yarn at a different gauge, the pattern also includes instructions to work according to how much yarn you have. Please note that modifying the pattern in this way will change the width and length of the shawl.
