Elton’s Newsies Hat is knit in the round from the top down in one piece. Because it uses the Magic Loop Method it would be considered an Intermediate Skill Level pattern. However, I would say an ambitious Advanced Beginner could take it slow and be just fine.

This pattern is for sizes Toddler, Child Small, Adult Small(Child Large), and Adult Large. This is a larger version of the original Elton’s Newsies Baby Hat. This larger version uses a thicker yarn to accommodate the larger sizes while still keeping it’s form.
