Two big knitting trends (mosaic knitting and skein kits) combine for a project that is sure to inspire you to cozy up in a scarf this season. The mosaic stitch pattern and color-shifting stripe arrangement make this an engaging knit with lots to look forward to—no dreaded “scarf boredom” here! Options included for adding fringe, or making as an infinity scarf.

Yarn: 3 colors. Yarn Indulgences Zed Merino Sport/DK, 100% superwash merino wool; 140 yd (128 m) per 2 oz (56 g) skein. Scarf with fringe: 117-121 yds each color (353- 363 total yds). Infinity scarf: 86-94 yds each color (258-282 total yds).

Gauge: 22 stitches and 40 rows = 4” (10 cm) in pattern stitch.

Needles: US Size 6 (4 mm) straights or circulars (plus a spare needle for working Infinity Scarf only), or size needed to obtain gauge.

Tools: Tapestry needle, scissors, crochet hook (to apply fringe only), stitch holder (infinity scarf only).
