This long coat with pockets and deep ribbing is all insouciant style, but the secret of its success is in the perfectly planned details. Gentle waist shaping keeps the lines flattering, seamed construction adds stability, and fashioned decreases lend a touch of class to the raglan shoulders. The single-rib collar is worked together with the fronts and then extended and seamed to the back.

Construction

The pieces are worked flat and sewn together. The pocket linings are worked first, then incorporated into the fronts as they are worked. The collar extensions are worked from each front and joined at the back neck with Joinery Bind Off, then the collar edge is sewn to the back neck.
