Update: An error was found on row 4 of the heel flap. It is now corrected. If you downloaded this pattern before July 1, 2011, please download it again. Sorry for any inconvenience.

This pattern features toe up construction and a heel that does not need to have any stitches picked up.
The leg is ribbed to help cling or stretch to many sizes and has a simple lace every other rib to fancy it up which is both written and charted.

Because of the precise numbers in the heel, the easiest way to resize this pattern is to change needle size. Just changing the needle by .25 mm changed the circumference by an inch for me. If the ball of your foot is over 9” around you’ll want 8 sts per inch. If it is 8 to 9” go for 8.5 sts per inch. If smaller, try 9 sts per inch. You want a bit of negative ease. Being toe-up it is easy to make the toe your gauge swatch.
