Emma is a top knitted from the top down, without seams. You begin back and forth to shape the yoke and the shoulders, then join in the round when closing the neckline. The shoulder stitches are then placed on hold, and the front and back are worked separately back and forth down to the bottom of the armholes. They are then joined, and the body is knitted in the round. Two options are offered: a straight body or curved hems. You finish by picking up stitches along the neckline and the armholes to knit the ribbed edgings.
