This pattern has 2 brioche variations of the original emPOWER BANDANA designed by Casapinka. These bandanas are worked flat from the cast on edge to the widest point. The small cast on edge is seamed to the matching-length edge at the far end after knitting.

For brioche version #1, you begin with a few stitches and make increases every 4th counted row, bringing the increase inward four times, then repeated.

For brioche version #2, you cast on more stitches and make increases every 8th counted row. The first four increases are then repeated once more. The cowl is then knit straight.

Yarn
You can, of course, use any purple yarns that you want. It could make for an interesting bandana if you combined different weights, different fibers, and different purples. Here are some suggestions if you would like to purchase yarns:

Lady Dye Yarns https://ladydyeyarns.com/product/for-the-people/ For the People color way is the kickoff yarn but there are soooo many other colors available so please go and give these small businesses some love!

There is a list of dyers who have purple yarn as well and BIPOC dyers are noted by an asterisk so please support them.
