Enamorada - in love
Yes, I guess I have been in love with this cardigan from the first sketch! Then finding the lovely wool from Malabrigo to work it, the pleasure of seing the cables growing and meeting my expectations, creating the raglan-shaping and the collar and then finally wearing it! Now I really don’t want to take it off!
I love to find new ways of wearing it: buttoned, semi-buttoned, unbelted, belted, collar buttoned all the way up, collar spreading out, with one button fastened at top!

I would call this cardigan a classic garment - as well as a classy one. It’s the kind of garment that never goes out of fashion with its cables going from the beginning of the body and sleeves following the cardigan all the way up through the soft raglan-shaping to the large collar knitted in rib-pattern.

ConstructionThe Enamorada Cardigan is a pleasure to work from first stich.
It is a seamless cardigan with button-bands and collar integrated in the knitting, no picking up of stitches. The body and sleeves are worked bottom-up in separate pieces (sleeves are worked in the round) to armpits where pieces are assembled for raglan-shaping. All increases (and decreases for waist-shaping) are made in the sides of the stochinette sts - meaning no ugly marks under sleeves or in the sides of the body.
Waist-shaping is optional.

The patterns used are simple cables, rib-pattern, stochinette and double moss.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow with both charts and row-by-row instructions for the cables.

Sizes Finished bust-measurements are 35/37/39/41/43/45”.
Full length from center of back neck is 25/25/25.7/26/26.2/26.7”

Material I used the gorgeous merino Worsted from Malabrigo. It is super-soft and knits up beautifully.
Gauge is 20 sts to 10cm/4” BEFORE blocking.
You will need 7/7/8/8/9/10 skeins to work the cardigan.

Gauge 20 sts in stockinette sts = 10cm/4”.
25 sts in the cable/moss-st mixture = 10cm/4”.
