BEYOND THE PATTERN: Since the shawl has been created in your favorite Team Colors, it is highly likely that it will provide an extra layer of warmth as you root for your team. So as not to distract from the game by having to make sure that the shawl is on with the right side out, I created it in reversible patterns. The top portion is a wide knit/purl stripe that resembles stadium steps or seats. The lower portion is created in an End Run Stitch of zig-zagging ribs that travel back and forth across the field. It is finished with a garter stitch border resembling flags, half of which are trimmed with optional yarn footballs. Have fun making it, more fun wearing it and may your team win!
