The Entwining Shawl pattern features twisted stitches and cables which are easier to knit than they appear to be.

If you find twisted stitches difficult to knit then feel free to work all ktbl and ptbl stitches as ordinary knit and purl stitches. (The only difference this will make is that the stitches will stand out less if they are not twisted, but with a yarn that has good stitch definition this won’t matter)

This pattern includes both charts and full written instructions so you can follow whichever you feel most comfortable using.

It is worked top down starting with a garter tab for a neat edge

You will need:
Up to about 700m aran weight yarn
5.5mm (UK 5 / US 9) long circular needles (to hold the large amount of stitches while knitting flat)
1 or 2 Dpns cable needles (2nd is optional - instructions are given for two different methods of working the cables, using either 1 or 2 dpns so you can use which ever method you prefer)
4 Stitch markers
