The beret has tweeded brim, which is worked flat. I used a generous increase to achieve the right bohemian look. You may knit in contrasting colors or fades of multicolored yarn along with solid or semisolid dyes.

Any light fingering wool will look nice in this project, although I would avoid merino and alpaca as those fibers have a heavier drape and might not keep the desired shape of the beret.

“Eplekjekk” in Norwegian literally consists of “apple” and “handsome”, but as a fixed expression it means “cheeky”. It seemed as a perfect name for the beret!
