A bold project for the contemporary knitter, this design combines inspiration from modern art and scrap quilting. The poncho is made in three separate striped and biased strips. The strips are seamed together to create a unique, dimensional fabric. A garter-stitch border adds a pop of a contrasting color around all the exposed edges.
Finished Size 19¾“ wide and 26¾” tall.
Yarn Cascade Yarns Boliviana (100% merino wool; 191 yd 175 m/3½ oz 100 g): #6 white (A), 3 skeins; #9 black (B), 3 skeins; #21 green apple (C), 1 skein.
Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm): 16” and 32” circular (cir). Size 8 (5 mm): straight. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Marker (m); removable m; tapestry needle.
Gauge 17 sts and 24 rows = 4” in rev St st on larger needles.
