ESCHER THREEFOLD is a cowl worked seamlessly in the round, using a provisional Cast On and Grafting to join both ends. It looks the same inside and out, upside and down. Choose three (or more!) colours from De Rerum Natura Ulysse’s vast colour range and watch the Escheresque metamorphosis unfold.

The pattern comes with two sizes, short (shown) and long.
This pattern is a bit low-key and is more like a recipe-style than line-by-line instructions. It doesn’t have the nice layout of my other recent patterns. Techniques like Grafting and the Mattress Stitch are used, but not fully explained in the pattern.
There are plenty of free tutorials, for example:
Grafting (Knitty)
Mattress Stitch (Knitty)
Provisional Cast On (Knitty)

The sample (short version) is worked in De Rerum Natura Ulysse in Baleine Bleu, Fauve, and Creme Anglaise.
EspaceTricot (second picture) used De Rerum Natura Ulysse in Argile, Foret, and Quartz.
