With winter on the way; with the prospect of snow, I was inspired to create the Eskimo Girl Tea Cosy to keep the teapot hot during cold winter months.

The Eskimo girl’s coat is made from Stylecraft Special DK Turquoise, and has white intarsia snowflakes on it. The 11 rows of intarsia are worked from a chart in the knitting pattern. With so few rows and only 2 colours the intarsia is easy enough for beginners.

The coat is trimmed with Stylecraft Eskimo DK, which is perfect for looking like fur. The fluffiness makes the Eskimo girl look really cosy.

The girl is holding a fish that she has caught, and a friendly seal has come over for a look. I thought it would be lovely to give the girl a little friend and it makes the tea cosy more interesting. Both the seal and the fish have black 5mm beads for eyes.

The Eskimo Girl tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that covers a teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.

The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so you could start knitting Her very soon!
