Buy that one skein of luxury yarn and make yourself this beautiful Estonian lace shawl, featuring Lily of the Valley, flowers, and my own butterfly motifs. If you have ever wanted to try knitting an Estonian lace pattern, are fairly comfortable reading charts and doing some lace, then this is a fairly simple pattern to begin with.

I used one skein of Expression Fiber Arts Alpaca Silk Lace, in color Purity. This is a beautiful yarn, made with Alpaca and Mulberry silk.

This is my Estonian Butterfly Garden shawl, modified to make it larger, and I added a lacy border along the top.

The finished measurements are: 60” (152cm) wide by 26” (66cm) deep.

The size can be adjusted to the amount of yarn in your skein; the triangle shape begins at the bottom and increases to the top. You can stop knitting whenever you get close to using up all your yarn.
