I recently discovered the Estonian Inlay or Roosimine technique and wow - what mindblowing ideas came up from my designer brain.

So here is my first pattern with this technique - a beautiful fun sock pattern, easy to work, for a skein of sock yarn and one or more left overs. The pattern reminds me of stars, so I named it Estonian Star.

You will need one skein of fingering weight sock yarn and left over(s) in contrasting color(s) - the pattern repeat is worked over 4 stars and for every repeat you will need about 4 m (4.5 yards). For a size M I worked a total of 6 repeats on both socks.

If you want to work the two-colored heel you will need about 10 m (12 yards). Instructions for a usual heel is included.

I demonstrate preparing your yarn for Roosimine technique and the technique itself with short video tutorials.

Ich habe kürzlich die Estonian Inlay Technik (auch Roosimine genannt) für mich entdeckt und hatte gleich ganz viele Ideen für verschiedene Designs.

Estonian Star ist eine Sockenanleitung für diese Technik - es erinnert mich an Sterne und da lag der Name “Estnischer Stern” einfach nahe.

Du benötigst einen Strang Sockenwolle sowie einen oder mehrere Reste - die Musterwiederholung beinhaltet 4 Sterne und für jede Wiederholung brauchst Du etwa 4 m Garn.

Für die zweifarbige Ferse werden etwa 10 m benötigt, eine kurze Anleitung für eine einfarbige Ferse ist jedoch auch enthalten.
