A warm lace hat: how is that possible? Estonica Hat is worked in two yarns of different weights, one yarn at a time. The Aran weight inner layer is worked first and then stitches are picked up to work the outer layer with the beautiful Estonian lace stitch pattern in heavy lace weight. The hat is adorned with an optional pompom.

The hat is available in three sizes: S, M and L. The sizes differ at the ribbing only, so the hat in size S will be slightly more slouchy and the hat in size L will be slightly more snug than the hat shown. If needed, you may slightly modify the height of the body of the hat according to the instructions provided.

For information about sizes, measurements and yarn requirements please check the second page of the pattern located among the photos on the left.

I asked test knitters what they would like to tell about the pattern and the finished hat to other knitters and here are some of their answers:

kdobrenen A joy to knit. Lovely result. Such a unique design. Pattern was very well written.

ftmhling I enjoyed knitting this hat. You can use some left over from your stash. Less yarn consumption. Very pretty lace :)

Cre8aBlueMoon Quick enough for last minute beautiful Xmas gift.

klementine Beautiful hat! Just make sure to swatch and adjust needle size if needed, this is a project when this procedure is really important.

ksenmi The pattern is well written and the knitting was fun. I love this little beautiful hat with Estonian charm.
