“Et par” is the Danish words for “a pair”. This Shawl matches my design the “Et par 2 (Blanket)” for a matching shawl and blanket set for Mother and Baby or a matching shawl and lap blanket. Et Par 1 is a shawl that have longer ends that will drape gracefully around the shoulders and keeps in place without a pin.

The directions for the shawl includes two sizes – large shawl pictured. The large shawl has a width of 245 centimeters and a length of 63 centimeters after blocking. The small shawl has a width of 160 centimeters and a length of 46 centimeters after blocking.

The shawl is knitted in one piece starting at the top and ending with the bottom lace edge. The pattern is written for a knitter who is able to follow written instructions as well as follow a lace chart, work increase and decrease and knows how to work short rows.

This pattern calls for a yarn with a 27 stitch count per 10 centimeters gauge. i.e. a yardage of approximately 175 meters per 50 grams.

Materials: yarn, circular knitting needle and yarn needle for weaving in ends.

The pattern does not include directions for the matching blanket, finished items yarn etc. The pattern only includes instruction for knitting the shawl.
