I have long wanted to capture the beauty of the plum blossom—the emblem of the Korean Empire—within a knitted piece. Gazing at the serene view of plum and cherry blossoms blooming beyond the quiet palace walls, I gathered fragments of that season and translated them into this pattern.

This blouse features delicate plum blossom and leaf motifs, creating a rich, subtly ethnic atmosphere.

The garment is worked partly flat and partly in the round, then finished using steeking. The colorwork is designed as an upper-body focal point rather than covering the entire chest. The horizontal motif remains consistent, while the vertical length can be customized by choosing from three options to suit your preferences and body proportions.

Included is a tutorial sharing my method for achieving a clean, jogless finish in circular colorwork along the border. The sleeves incorporate short rows for improved fit and comfort when worn. I recommend choosing a size with approximately 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) of positive ease relative to your bust measurement.
