越冬 (ettou) - hibernation, passing the winter
Dressing for comfort and style is the idea at the heart of this design.
Ettou cardigan is full of texture and contrast with it’s Honeycomb and Brioche Rib stitches. The double button band is an essential part of the classic cardigan and an intricate detail bringing it all together. Ettou can be the polished focal point of an outfit or the piece that finishes an ensemble.
Whichever you choose, your cardigan is most of all comfortable and warm, but also lightweight due to the nature of brioche stitches and the DK weight yarn it is worked with.
The cardigan is worked in one piece from the bottom up to the underarm. Then the sleeves are worked separately. After joining body and sleeves the raglan decreases are worked. The final step is shaping the shawl collar and knitting the button band.
