An alternating pattern of stockinette and garter rib giving what my daughter has dubbed ‘bubble socks’ due to the way the stitches stand out. Written to be made as knee-highs for a six to eight year old but can be very easily modified to be mid-calf by only doing half of the recommended pattern repeats. It would be easy to do these socks in stripes as well!

I haven’t tried it, myself, but theoretically, simply switching to a worsted weight and larger DPNS (say a size 6 instead) should turn these socks into adult size. I’ll probably give them a go to make socks for my son eventually. If you try, let me know how they turn out! Hope you enjoy my first pattern!
