My Ever Trusty Shawl is the very first knitting pattern I have attempted to write. It was conceived as a very simple mindless knitting project for a bus ride i was about to embark on from my hometown Baguio City, to Dagupan City 3 hours away. It was just a way for me to keep awake during the bus ride. Long story short, I didn’t stop knitting it until 3 days later and it became this long, shallow shawl. It has ever since become my go to neck piece for its utter simplicity and versatility.

This shawl is made up of small panels of garter and seed stitch separated by eyelet rows. The shawl is designed to be long and shallow which makes it perfect as a wrap-around neckpiece. You may follow the actual sequence of the panels, but you are encouraged to be creative with the sequence. I suggest you work the shawl until it reaches a full arm span length when folded in half. The Ever Trusty Shawl is the very first pattern I have attempted to write and I hope you enjoy it.
